'joyride' is a mournful but pretty expulsion of emotion that struggles with meeting the right person "at the wrong time". Its smooth melody is complemented by a half-time, almost bossa nova backing instrumental.
"The new ‘joyride’ EP is a project about the turmoil of love, and how we change as people as it starts to fall apart," Mysie said. “joyride is about holding on and eventually letting go. All the lessons I've learned about myself during the ride never stop”.
Fraser T Smith, perhaps best known for his collaboration with Adele on 'Set Fire To The Rain, said: "The joyride EP is Mysie’s best work to date, as she opens up her heart, mind and soul - and takes the listener on an intimate, beautiful, rhythmic journey”.
joyride arrives 13 May via 70Hz.
