The best alternative music festival by the sea is back for a seventh year in 2022 with its biggest line-up yet, featuring Gigwise Issue 3 stars Bob Vylan and Witch Fever.

Taking place at Brighton’s Concorde 2 on 1 May, the line-up also includes much loved UK alternative acts including Saint Agnes, Clt Drp, Bossk, God is an Astronaut, the St Pierre Snake Invasion and Standards.

Bad Pond is the festival incarnation of one of the South East’s favourite studios and rehearsal spaces, Small Pond. Built from scratch by a group of friends with big dreams in 2015, Small Pond is also a record label, having released albums by the likes of Physics House Band and Clt Drp.

Small Pond’s MD Vlad explains Bad Pond festival’s DIY origins…

“I started Bad Pond with a fella called Ryan Balch, who used to put on experimental shows in Brighton under the name “Bad Math.” I liked the bands he booked, and he liked Small Pond, so we went for a beer and decided to team up and give this a go.

We tried a few different venues [for Bad Pond Festival], including a multi-venue event, but in 2019 when we put it on at Concorde 2 for the first time the event found its home. We don’t want to grow the event any larger than it is, just keep it as a yearly party of friends, and bands we love, and do it by the sea, in the sun, with the smell of gasoline from the Hells Angels nearby, greasy burgers, cheap lager, and loads of smiles, just like last year…”

Last year’s line-up included Brighton’s PROJECTOR. We have the premiere of their performance of ‘Feels Like Something’. Watch it below.

Bad Pond Festival takes place at Brighton Concorde 2 on 1 May. Tickets.
