More about:

Norway’s Sløtface are back this week with news of changes within the band and two new singles to celebrate their return. The band will now be led by Haley Shea, as previous members Lasse and Tor-Arne move on to other projects. Now, Shea will be collaborating with different musicians, songwriters and producers, giving Sløtface more of a collective feel.

The new tracks – ‘Beta’ and ‘Come Hell Or Whatever’ see Sløtface venture into new sonic lands, mixing their throwback punk sound with more modern indie-pop stylings. ‘Come Hell Or Whatever’ is more of what we’d expect from Sløtface, while ‘Beta’ slows it down with more pared-down instrumentation.

Here's what Shea said about ‘Beta’:

""Beta" was the very first song Mikhael and I worked on together in his studio. It should be listened to while wearing sunglasses, even on cloudy days!

The song is about wanting to connect with people on a deeper level, but feeling like social media sometimes gets in the way, with things becoming somewhat intimidating, shallow and superficial. The song is a confidence booster for myself where I’m trying to be cooler than I am. It was written at a time when I really, really missed the rush of playing live, and I needed to find some of that spark and edge in myself that only really comes out on stage."
