A good old fashioned banger

More about:

As suggested from the numerous Irish acts gracing our Hello Tomorrow, there’s a lot of talent coming from Ireland at the moment. And one to keep an eye on is Somebody’s Child, back again with new single ‘I Need Ya’.

Capturing that perfect film scene, coming of age indie sound, the Dublin-raised singer is barraging towards his debut album, landing on February 3rd. But until then, the artist has good old fashioned guitar music on lockdown, lending his accented vocals to an upbeat, crowd-pleaser backing that sounds ready to fill stadiums or festival fields asap.

Merging that classic 2010s indie sound with older influences from The Cure or Joy Division, Somebody’s Child is creating a bit of a walking tour of indie in his back catalogue. Naturally drawing comparisons to Fontaines D.C, especially on old tracks like ‘The Lover’, the singer is another name focussed on presenting the exciting and progressive scene in Ireland right now. We’re not sure what they’re putting in the water over there at the moment, but with ‘I Need Ya’ sounding this good, Ireland is racing ahead as the home of new indie.

Somebody's Child's debut lands February 3rd
