Kasabian have surprised fans by revealing that they’re set to release a new EP on September 3rd.
Despite the fact that the band are still touring their acclaimed second album, ‘Empire,’ they plan to release the ‘Fat Fuse EP’ on limited edition 10” vinyl.
The new EP is made up of songs that the band have been recording at home – in between touring commitments – with all the tracks being produced by the band’s guitarist Serge Pizzorno.
Pizzorno told NME that the band have been eager to reward fans with new material after they’ve supported them so well at festivals during the summer.
He said: "Because we're just doing all these festivals we thought 'Why don't we just put one out and crack on.
"I'm in a really, really rich vein of form as far as songwriting goes. I'm in a really good patch where everyday something happens. There was no point in saving it you know, because we've got equally good songs for the album. So this marks this summer and what we're doing at the moment.”
He added: “I think the fans who first got into us, they'll really appreciate it, they'll feel we've not disappeared into fucking arenas and all that. It's like, 'There's a bit more music for you for people to enjoy.’”
The tracklisting for the EP has yet to be revealed.
