- Watch Korn - 'Hold On'
Korn guitarist James Shaffer has revealed the band’s temporary drummer quit after making “offensive” demands of the band.
Shaffer says the band had planned to play with Terry Bozzio for at least one album and tour, but the sticksman made his position untenable after getting a little ahead of himself.
He explains, “There were certain demands that he made. We weren't ready to meet those demands. He was a great guy and a phenomenal drummer but the demands that he made were offensive.
“He wanted to be a member of the band, and that included ownership. We were like, 'What, you want to have 25 per cent of everything?' We can't just sign away the right to music on a whim.
"It's like some chick that you hang out with and all of a sudden they want to move in. What do you say to that? 'You were supposed to stay for the weekend, but you moved in.' It was kind of like that.”
- God forbid the drummer actually wants to be IN the band and share equally in the profit from his work on the songs, album and tour. Was he trying to get 25 percent of their back catalog or something? This article doesn’t make sense. It’s missing some important elements.
- Why Terry needed to join a sucky band like this is beyond me. He’s way too great of a drummer to be playing their crap...he played with Zappa..
- he needs alot of money to put up with their horrible music
- Yeah, this is ridiculous. Bozzio’s talents were completely wasted with this trivial embarrassment of a band. Maybe this frees him up to join Limp Bizkit now.
- You all are foolish. Bozzio is ok, but I’ve seen better. And KoRn is very talented, you all are just to closed minded.
