Field Day Festival Faces Barrage Of Complaints

Organisers of the Field Day Festival in London have apologised for the farcical lack of toilets and bars at its inaugural event on Saturday.

Revellers were forced to wait up to two hours to get served at the bar, while queues for the women’s toilets were upwards of one hour.

On top of this, complaints have been ringing in on the festival’s Myspace page about the sound levels being far too low to enjoy. Streams of people left the festival early after being unable to get served or use the toilet facilities.

In an official statement, organisers admit that they got it wrong and there were far too many, long queues at the event. However, they’re yet to address the sound problems. It reads:

“Thanks to those of you that attended the first Field Day. Hands up, we got swamped. Sorry. It was our first festival, and there were clearly too many queues.

We did not oversell the event and the numbers of all toilets and bars were approved by the council.

However we clearly didn't anticipate the demands on the bars from a Field Day crowd, and it clearly wasnt anywhere near enough. Next year we will be at least doubling both bar and toilets.

We feel very disapointed about these problems, and hope that it didn't affect your enjoyment of the music and other activities too much. We appreciate all of the feedback we have received and will be taking it all on board.

Thank you once again for attending the first Field Day, we will improve.”
