More Dinosaur Jr

Given the climate of seminal bands reforming, only to inadvertently give their legacy a kicking, how refreshing is it to receive, the dreaded, “new material” and actually have it not be a total embarrassment for all concerned.
Whilst still not coming close to anything on the greatness that is ‘Your Living All Over Me’, 'Crumble' has all the right ingredients are in place, with J Mascis’ trademark self-deprecating lethargic drawl, ear-bleeding country riffs, Lou and Murph’s intuitive rhythmic throb. Not forgetting of course another spectacularly OTT guitar solo that only Mascis can rightfully get away with in the twentieth century.
Lets hope the Pixies take as much care with their planned new album.
