Johnny Borrell Plays Gig With Mystery Head Wound
First Pete Doherty had a pop, then he scrapped with Razorlight bassist Carl Dalemo onstage, now Johnny Borrell has been attacked again…by his guitar.
The incident came at last nights (September 17th) XFM 10th birthday celebration gig at London’s 229 venue.
Borrell walked on stage with a slight gash on his right eye causing speculation amongst fans in the crowd as to what had occurred. Then Borrell pointed to the mark following the bands performance of ‘Golden Touch’ and asked everyone: “Do you see that,” he then proceeded into the next track.
Towards the climax of the bands set he brought attention to the scar once again: “You all see that yeh? I cut myself on my guitar on the way up here, so if I pass out onstage you know why.”
Not quite in the same league as Gallows frontman Frank Carter - who was hospitalised after splitting his head open at a gig on the weekend - a plaster would have done the trick.
Drama queen Johnny strikes again.
