US rapper Snoop Dogg has offered to help solve the escalating problem of gang violence in the United Kindom.

The rapper – who is currently banned from entering the country - said that "men in white wigs" and "laws from the 1800s" are stopping him from controlling the issue.

Speaking ahead of the MTV European Music Awards in Munich the rapper said the UK was “suffering” by not allowing him to help.

He continued: "I really wanted to be a voice to stop gang members ‘cause they respect me enough to get into a room with me. By not permitting me they're saying they just don't want me to solve this situation.

"It's not the fans, it's just a few people in white wigs and members of parliament. They got a problem because the judicial law is from the 1800s," reports Sky News.

Snoop Dogg is hosting this year's MTV awards ceremony which will feature performances from My Chemical Romance and Babyshambles.
