Ahead of Elvis and Bowie...

Queen’s late frontman Freddie Mercury has been voted the top rock legend of all time in a fresh poll.

The star, who died in November 1991, beat the likes of Elvis Presley (second place) and Jimi Hendrix (third), in the highly debatable poll by Australia’s best selling newspaper The Herald Sun.

However, somehow middling rocker Jon Bon Jovi, who came in at fifth place, was above such legends as David Bowie (tenth), Mick Jagger (ninth) and, erm, Slash (sixth), questioning the integrity of the poll.
