Kylie Minogue To Be Made Knight By The French Government
Kylie Minogue is to receive the Chevalier dans l'ordre des Arts et des Letters from the French Government next week.
The award, which translates as Knight in the order of Arts and Letters, is the highest cultural award that the country offers.
Minogue, who will collect the honour at a ceremony in Paris on May 5th, has been given the award for her “contribution to the enrichment of French culture”.
In a statement, the pop star said that she was “deeply honoured to be recognised”.
“French culture has influenced me greatly and I have always had colossal respect for the arts and people of France,” Minogue added.
The singer’s world tour opens at the Paris Bercy on May 6th.
