Radiohead Kick Off World Tour With Tibet Message
Radiohead used the opening show of their world tour last night (May 5th) to send an obvious message about China’s political and humanitarian actions in Tibet.
The stage for the band’s show at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in Florida was decorated with two Tibetan flags.
The subject of Tibet, which lost its independence to the Peoples Republic of China in 1951, has become prominent over recent months, with violent protests breaking out across the country.
Radiohead’s show in Florida was their first proper tour date in support of recent album ‘In Rainbows’.
The 24-song set included the entire album, expect first single ‘Jigsaw Falling Into Place’.
The band’s tour will arrive in the UK next month and tickets for their shows – in London, Manchester and Glasgow – are available through Gigwise by clicking the Buy Tickets link.
Alternatively, you can call our ticket hotline on 0871 230 1098 for more information.
As previously reported, the band have published eco-friendly guidelines on how fans can get to the concerts. Click here to read them.
