Welsh singer Duffy has given her support to US rapper Jay-Z ahead of his performance at this years Glastonbury Festival.
The rapper has received widespread criticism since it was unveiled that he would headline the Pyramid Stage on the Saturday (June 28th) of the event.
Amongst those who criticised Jay-Z was Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, who said it was “wrong” for a hip-hop artist to headline Glastonbury.
Speaking to Glastonbury Festivals, Duffy said she was “quite intrigued” by the amount of criticism aimed at the rapper.
“It hadn't really crossed my mind that his appearance might be a problem. I've seen him live and it was one of the best shows I've ever been to,” she said.
Duffy, who saw the rapper at the Royal Albert Hall in London, described him as a “great musician”.
“He had these great string arrangements and was just an amazing showman,” she said.
“It was really fun and you left feeling good. I'm completely excited about seeing him again."
