Former Radio 1 DJ Kevin Greening died from a drugs overdose following a gay bondage session, an inquest has been told.
Greening, who was presenting on London’s Smooth Radio at the time of his death, died last December in a flat in South London.
Coroner Paul Knapman, who recorded a verdict of misadventure, said that the DJ “was found dead having indulged in unorthodox sexual behaviour involving restraint equipment and illegal drugs."
Greening was wearing a rubber suit and had cling film and gaffer tape on his body, the inquest was told, reports the BBC.
The DJ presented Radio 1’s breakfast show alongside DJ Zoe Ball from 1997 to 1998. Since leaving the station, he had also worked for Jazz FM and XFM.
