Officials in Lebanon have asked Interpol to hand over their findings in the investigation into the murder of Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim, new reports suggest.
A statement from Ibrahim Najjar, the Lebanese justice minister, said that the country wants to conduct its own inquiry into Tamim's murder.
Tamim, shot to fame after winning a talent show in her home country in 1996, was found dead in her home in Dubai on Monday.
Reports claim that the singer suffered multiple stab wounds and her face had been mutilated in the attack.
Although police have yet to comment on the reports, various Middle Eastern news agencies report that a private party took place in Tamim's home in the exclusive Jumeira district of the city on Sunday evening.
It's thought that Shortly after the party ended in the early hours of Monday morning a man demanded to be given the number of the singer's apartment.
Tamim was widely praised for having the ability to sing both pop and traditional Arabic songs.
But her life became shrouded in mystery, with much debate centred on her relationship with her estranged second husband, Adel Maatouk.
It's understood that she left Cairo in 2007 to move to the exclusive Jumeira district in Dubai.
