Duffy has spoken about the pressures of her quick rise to fame, claiming she is on the verve of a nervous breakdown.
The 24-year-old singer has sold over 3.3million copies of her debut album, 'Rockferry', since it was released earlier this year.
And has also received nominations for a host of accolades, including MTV European Music awards and Mobo gongs.
But the singer has now admitted that she finds being in the spotlight hard to deal with.
“I thought I was superhuman. But there are pressures about being in the public eye,” she told the Sun newspaper.
“I’m borderline on a nervous breakdown. I’m never calm any more. I think: ‘Can I handle this? Do I want to disappear?’”
The singer, who has also enjoyed massive success in America, said it would be very easy to become a “recluse”.
