Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has said that the band’s infamous feud with Blur was “pathetic”.
Both British bands exchanged insults throughout the mid-90s, during an era which came to be known as Britpop.
At the height of their feud, they went head-to-head in the single charts in the same week, with Blur’s ‘Country House’ eventually outselling Oasis’s ‘Roll With It’.
"Looking back now that fight's all so pathetic over two really quite shit pop songs,” Gallagher told the Guardian.
The guitarist also said he regretted once saying that he hoped Blur’s Damon Albarn and Alex James would die of Aids.
When asked how he got on with Albarn today, Gallagher replied: "He's a great artist. He's different from me. I'm not an artist - for me, it just comes out.
“He does Chinese operas and that kind of thing, he's got more strings to his bow than I'll ever have."
"There's always been something between me and him, and I don't know what it is."
Oasis are currently on a US tour. You can see highlights from their show in California earlier this week below or click here for extensive coverage.
Oasis US Tour
- they're all millionaires,i think they all won!
- Oasis won. No question. They are in a different League to any other band in the last 30 years or more. Including Blur.
- rubbish...oasis are & were terrible. blur were decent-ish. pulp were incredible. that's 'britpop' right there. xxxx
- Wether you like it or not, it was oasis. The people that are voting otherwise are delusional.
- OASIS. OASIS. OASIS.
