Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz Asks Gym Class Heroes Star To Be Godfather

Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz has asked Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy to be the godfather to his new son.

Wentz and his wife, Ashlee Simpson, welcomed the birth of Bronx Mowgli Wentz last month.

McCoy, who dates singer Katy Perry, told Touch Weekley he was "so proud" to be asked to be the child's godfather.

"Pete told me I was treading godfather territory and two days later, after I met Bronx and Ashlee saw how good I was with him, it was official,” he added.

Wentz and Simpson met in 2006 but only confirmed their engagement at the beginning of April this year.

They exchanged vows a month later in front of approximately 150 family members and friends at Simpson’s parent’s home in San Fernando Valley.
