Madonna is considering adding a performance at the Glastonbury festival to her 2009 tour schedule, according to reports.
The singer is understood to be lining up a series of “selected” dates following the conclusion of her recent Sticky & Sweet world tour.
According to a report in the Mirror newspaper, a deal with Glastonbury organisers has yet to be finalised.
"It's a strange decision. Madonna's only just finished her deal with Warners and hasn't been in the studio yet so there is no new material to promote,” a source told the newspaper.
Madonna would likely prove a controversial addition to the June festival, which last year attracted widespread attention by booking US rapper Jay-Z.
Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and the recently reunited Blur are among the acts who have already been linked to the main headline slots.
The Glastonbury festival will run from June 26th-28th.
