US R&B star Beyonce will be the first person to sing for Barack Obama following his presidential inauguration on Tuesday (January 20th), it's been reported.
The singer will perform for president Obama and First Lady Michelle at the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball.
According to Variety, Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys and Steve Wonder will also perform.
Mariah Carey, Shakira and Faith Hill are also scheduled to appear at the event, which will be televised by ABC.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Beyonce, a passionate supporter of Mr Obama, expressed her desire to perform at the inauguration following his election victory last November.
An official concert for Mr Obama, featuring U2, Bruce Springsteen and Beyonce, will take place at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on January 18th.
