- More Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen has said that performing at President Obama’s pre-inauguration concert was the perfect warm-up for this weekend’s Super Bowl.
Springsteen was one of a host of artists who took part in a concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial earlier this month.
“It was a good warm up,” said Springsteen, who will perform at the Super Bowl half-time show on Sunday (February 2nd).
“You’ll have a lot of crazy football fans, but you won’t have Lincoln staring over your shoulder.”
Springsteen and the E Street Band will play to an expected US television audience of more than 100million at the Super Bowl.
During a press conference yesterday (January 29th), Springsteen had turned down previous invitations to perform at the event.
But he adeded: “This is the year. I really believe our band is going through a golden age."
Springsteen, who released his new album, ‘Working On A Dream’, this week, said he was planning a “12 minute party”.
Jennifer Hudson will sing the US national anthem at this Sunday’s spectacular in Florida, which will see the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Arizona Cardinals.
