- More Bruce Springsteen
Bruce Springsteen ordered Americans to “turn the television all the way up” last night (February 2nd) as he rocked the Super Bowl XXXIII.
The singer, dressed all in black, wowed fans in Tampa with a 12-minute half-time show which mixed new and classic material.
As well as his usual collaborators The E Street Band, Springsteen was also joined by a gospel choir and saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who featured on opener 'Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out'.
The song was followed by a powerful rendition of Springsteen's classic 'Born To Run' and new single 'Working On A Dream'.
The four song set ended with the singer's 1984 hit 'Glory Days'.
Springsteen, who is riding on a new wave of popularity, joked that he planned to go to the nearby Disneyland resort after his performance.
Before the football fame kicked off, former American Idol winner Jennifer Hudson sang the American National anthem.
It was the first time Hudson had performed live since her mother, brother and nephew were killed at their home in Chicago last October.
The Super Bowl, which attracts an estimated US television of audience of over 100million people, was won by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
