Three men suspected of killing reggae star Lucky Dube have go on trial in South Africa.
Sfiso Mhlanga, Julius Xowa and Thabiso Maroping, who have been asked not to plead, also face charges of attempted hijacking and unlawful firearm possession.
Dube was killed as he dropped his two children off outside his brother's house in Rosettenville, Johannesburg in October 2007.
His death generated widespread anger across the country.
The three accused were all denied bail during a preliminary court hearing last November.
It is believed that one of the suspects was out on bail at the time of Dube's killing.
The reggae singer began his career in the 1980s and was renowned for making songs which questioned the apartheid regime and his tackling of other social hardships within South Africa.
The trial is expected to last for one month.
