More Oasis
Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher has claimed he's too old-fashioned to play the video game Guitar Hero.
Gallagher also criticised the game, which has become a massive hit since it was first released in 2005, for not being realistic enough.
“I always tell kids playing a guitar is not a video game, there is no level to get to,” he told Total Guitar magazine.
“You’ll never master it and you’ll never complete the game. I’ve never played Guitar Hero myself. I suppose I’m a bit old-fashioned.”
But Gallagher admitted that Guitar Hero provided a better gaming experience than “somebody getting their head chopped off with a samurai sword while two goblins try to kill a donkey with a laser beam”.
He added: “If it puts little plastic guitars into kids’ hands and fires their imaginations, I guess it’s a good thing”.
Three editions of Guitar Hero have so far sold 14million copies - earning publishers RedOctane $1billion.
As previously reported on Gigwise, an new version of the game for DJs, entitled DJ Hero, is due to be released this year.
