Pete Doherty: 'I Was Conned Into Filming 24 Hour Documentary'

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty has claimed he never agreed to take part in a recent documentary which followed him for 24 hours.

Doherty said he had been “conned” by Gio Goi founder Anthony Donnelly, who also appeared in the MTV film.

Pete Doherty in 24 Hours, which aired last month, showed the singer at home in Wiltshire and modelling clothes at a fashion show in London.

“I was conned into [‘Pete Doherty In 24hrs],” Doherty told XFM.

“A fella called Anthony Donelly, of Gio Goi fame, said would I mind giving him stuff for his fashion show and doing a little turn?

“And then he turned up with a whole film crew. He slipped me a monkey and then the next thing it was being shown every five minutes on MTV”.

Pete Doherty releases his debut solo album, 'Grace/Wastelands', on Monday (March 16th).

  • I love the doc and I love Pete. I don't know how serious he was about believing he was conned. Maybe he regretted it afterwards but you can't help notice how the showing coincided perfectly with the upcoming ablum release. He shouldn't regete doing the doc - it showed a side many people don't known. It has to be scary putting yourself completely out there like that. One day you think "good idea" the next your like "What did I do that for" Long live
