- More The Beatles
Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa believes the football club's rich vein of form could see them become more famous than The Beatles.
Liverpool are in position to clinch the Premier League title this year following recent wins over Manchester United and a 5-0 white wash over Aston Villa last Sunday.
The club have also made it into the quarter finals of the Champions League after an impressive win over Real Madrid.
Arbeloa said that if the club delivered on their potential they could find themselves as popular as Liverpool's most famous sons.
“This team is on the way to becoming more famous than The Beatles,” he told The Telegraph newspaper.
“There are many weeks of emotion awaiting us in the Champions League and Premier League and this season could end up being historic for us.
“We are developing a sensational game and now all the pressure is on United. I believe they could fail and we are ready for that moment.”
Liverpool are currently one point Manchester United in the Premier League but will go top if they manage to beat Fulham on April 4th.
