The verdict in the trial of three men suspected of killing reggae star Lucky Dube is expected at a High Court in South Africa today (March 27th).
Sfiso Mhlanga, Julius Xowa and Thabiso Maroping originally denied murder, but one confessed recently he had been involved in the crime.
According to the BBC, he told the court that all three deserved to be punished.
Dube was killed as he dropped his two children off outside his brother's house in Rosettenville, Johannesburg in October 2007.
His death generated widespread anger across the country.
Earlier this week, the judge at Johannesburg High Court said there was no evidence the reggae star had been specifically targeted because of his celebrity.
Mhlanga, Xowa and Maroping did not know the identity of the alleged victim until they read about the murder in the newspaper, the court heard.
All three men have also denied charges of attempted hijacking and unlawful firearm possession.
Dube began his career in the 1980s and was renowned for making songs which questioned the apartheid regime and his tackling of other social hardships within South Africa.
