In only its second year Liverpool Soundcity has already become one of the best festivals for checking out new and emerging talent in the music world.

So, Gigwise put our heads together with the organisers and came up with a great idea to help get even more new bands on the bill.

Alongside the likes of Dolphin Music and the Metroplis studios, Gigwise and Soundcity are giving new acts the chance to play the festival.

Not only that, the eventual winner will also get studio time in Metropolis and a Fender Highway One Telecaster.

@Gigwise do they not charge for electric proms?I know that they needed generate more content that was watched/listened or would lose funding

@Gigwise I've always figured its a way to use up the budget so they don't have a surplus each year. They don't charge for them, do they?
