The average festival goer spends a whopping £600 on the weekend, a new survey has revealed.
Over 3,000 revellers were quizzed in a poll commissioned by Lovebox Weekender about their festival habits.
It found that the average festival goer spends £170 on the festival before leaving their house, while £130 is spent on alcohol compared to just £60 on food.
One in five people going to festivals in 2009 plan to take a sickie at work the Monday after weekend debauchery to help them recover, potentially around 141,000 in the UK over the festival season.
Despite spending the best part of a grand on festivals, 18% of those surveyed admit they're likely to see under six hours of music over each weekend.
Predictably 32% of the 3,000 polled say they have trouble remember which acts they've seen due to being intoxicated.
37% of people cited filthy toilets as their key festival gripe while 28% picked the weather, 15% claimed lack of showers, 10% blamed constant and lengthy queues and 10% said poor food ruined festivals.
