- More Lil Wayne
A lawyer for Lil' Wayne has questioned the reliability of a sniffer dog which allegedly discovered drugs on the rapper's tour bus.
James Tilson said during a pre-trial hearing yesterday that his request for the dog's training record had been rejected.
"If the dog is not reliable, then that puts the entire probable cause for the stop into question," he told the judge.
Police claim they discovered cocaine and ecstasy, as well as a handgun, during a raid on the rapper's tour bus at a border checkpoint near Yuma in January 2008.
Lil' Wayne, who real name is Dwayne Carter, has denied charges of drugs possession and one charge of weapons misconduct.
In court, Tilson also said he wanted to view footage filmed by security cameras at the border checkpoint.
Carter is due to appear in court again August 11 – a week before the release of his new album, 'Rebirth'.
