Michael Jackson’s music is dominating online sales charts once again today as the world comes to terms with the star’s death.
Fans have swamped online record stores, such as Amazon and iTunes, in a bid to re-discover – and in some cases discover – the music that made Jackson famous.
Jackson currently holds the top fourteen places on Amazon.co.uk’s list of top-20 best-selling albums.
The popstar’s debut album, ‘Off The Wall’, is at number one, with two different versions of ‘Thriller’ at three and four.
An as-yet-unreleased ‘Essentials’ album is also on the chart.
Apple’s iTunes music store is also registering high sales for Jackson’s music, particularly his many ‘best of’ retrospectives.
Meanwhile, it has been announced this afternoon that a new Michael Jackson DVD, originally due out alongside his comeback shows in London this summer, will be rushed into the shops.
The film provides a retrospective look at Jackson’s life as the King of Pop.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Jackson died yesterday afternoon of a suspected heart attack. He was 50.
The star was already in a coma when paramedics were called to his home in Los Angeles. He died two hours later in hospital.
