- More Michael Jackson
Police are close to discovering how Michael Jackson died, but a definite conclusion is still weeks away, it's been reported.
Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that detectives were still in the process of building a case to present to the LA County prosecutors.
The investigation into Jackson's sudden death on June 25 is understood to have been complicated by the sheer scale of the star's alleged drug addiction.
A series of raids have been carried out on property used by his personal physician, Conrad Murray, amid reports that the doctor administered a painkilling drug to the singer shortly before he died.
Dr Murray, who was hired as the star's physician for his comeback shows in London, has denied giving the star drugs.
His lawyer, Ed Cherfnoff, also said Dr Murray did not know whether Jackson was taking any medication or if he suffered from addiction problems.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times reported that the police investigation had also been held up as a result of their interest in Jackson's relationship with multiple other doctors.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Jackson's father Joseph said yesterday that the singer would be buried on his birthday, August 29.
