Dizzee Rascal wowed the crowds at Jersey Live as he delivered a raucous set on the main stage last night (September 5).
Despite playing one slot before headliners Basement Jaxx, the rapper proved to be the big draw on the opening day of the Channel Island festival.
Rascal’s set was a fusion of his old school classics, including ‘Jus’ A Rascal’, and more recent chart hits ‘Dance Wiv Me’ and ‘Holiday’.
“Don’t make me get old school,” Rascal said, before launching into ‘Fix Up’.
The crowds continued to swell around the main stage as the rapper’s performance unfolded.
And by set closer ‘Bonkers’, which Rascal dedicated to local islanders, the rapper had pulled in most of the festival site.
Other highlights on the opening day of Jersey Live came from Passion Pit.
The American band treated fans to songs from their debut album ‘Manners’, including ‘Sleepyhead’ and ‘Make Light’.
Golden Silvers also delivered an impassion set on the main stage, while Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip delivered a host of new songs as they rocked the dance tent.
BBC radio DJs Annie Nightingale and Red Dwarf star Craig Charles were also among performers yesterday.
Jersey Live concludes today with a headlining performance from The Kooks.
