Lady GaGa has been accused of being 'irresponsible' by an anti-suicide group following the MTV Video Music Awards.

During her performance at the awards on Sunday, GaGa dangled from a rope and pretended to stab herself whilst she performed the hit single 'Paparazzi'.

Now the UK based PAPYRUS, a group set up to aid young people suffering from mental health issues, has hit out at the popstar saying that “Sensationalising and romanticising suicide is irresponsible.”

A spokesperson for the group went on to add: “Celebrities, who are often idolised by young people, need to be more aware of the impact that such acts can have on vulnerable young people.”
