Aerosmith's Joe Perry: 'Steven Tyler Has To Get His Act Together'

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry says frontman Steven Tyler “has to get his act together”.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Perry revealed that the pair hadn't written a song alone together for ten years.

And he also said he was saddened when Tyler fell from the stage during a gig in South Dakota in August, prompting the band's summer tour to be cancelled.

“I was pretty (upset), because right before that, he had pulled a muscle in his leg. And we had to take two weeks off and we missed probably seven dates," Perry said.

The guitarist added that the tour “was building up to be a great tour”.

Tyler, 61, broke his left shoulder and needed 20 stitches after falling from the stage.

In a candid interview, Perry said the incident - and Tyler's other recent problems - proved the band needed to examine their current status.

"All I know is he's got to get his act together,” Perry said.

“I mean, he and I haven't written a song together alone in the same room in over ten years, so there's been some changes in paradigm of what Aerosmith is.”
