The average British music fan will spend over £10,000 on music in their lifetime, a new survey has found.
It's claimed that men spend more on music than women, averaging £12,480 compared to £9,120 for females.
The figures - based on CD, downloads, vinyl, music technology and gig tickets sales – is just one of a number of findings unveiled by comparedownload.com.
The survey also found that the average male will amass a music collection of 292 albums and singles, with the average female owning 221.
It somehow also predicts that we listen to each record on average 15 times, although 5% will never be listened to at all.
Men are also more likely to illegally download music with 42% of those surveyed admitting to breaking the law compared to 29% of women.
3,000 people between the ages of 18 and 60 were polled in the survey.
