So Solid Crew are back after five years away with an encouraging message for these troubled times: 'It's time to get back to business and help the UK out musically.'
The controversial garage supergroup, once infamous for its many members' scrapes with the law, has returned leaner, cleaner, and ready to do business.
Now known simply as So Solid, the group have dropped the “Crew” with its gangland connotations and trimmed personnel to three core members: Romeo, Lisa Maffia and rapper/entrepreneur Megaman.
Band leader Mega, who has even shed the last syllable of his name, has unveiled plans to follow up new single Since You Went Away with an album and test the waters for a permanent comeback.
'If not, we'll carry on bringing in new talent', he told The Sun. 'I think that's the most ideal situation for So Solid as a brand name and a company to be in - to function as a label and a production development company.'
Mega, who was acquitted of murder charges in 2006, had a positive message for Chipmunk after the young urban star went through a public meltdown on Twitter last year.
'You better stay in the industry. Dreams come once in a blue moon - don't let it go. I don't mind you doing your uni, but you've gotta battle it through in the industry.'
'We just wanna bring the happy times back.'
