Liam Gallagher's outburst at the BRIT Awards has split the opinion of Gigwise readers.
The former Oasis singer caused controversy at the event when he collected an album award on the band's behalf only to throw it into the crowd.
His reaction prompted host comedian Peter Kay to call him a “knob head”.
In a poll, 53 per cent of Gigwise readers said Gallagher, who is currently working on a new project, “showed himself up” at the event.
But 47 per cent believed his reaction was “brilliant”, and had injected a welcome hint of controversy into the awards ceremony.
One reader, Copaface, said: “Best Brits story ever! Don't care what people say, the guy is a legend and he found a better place for his meaningless award.”
But Jen was less impressed: “Why do we continue to venerate foul-mouthed self-important egotists?
“Hardly the sort of role model I want for my children.”
The fallout from Gallagher's actions continued yesterday when the singer described Kay as a “fat f*ck” on Twitter.
But Kay has since responded in a message on his personal blog, once again labelling Gallagher a “knob head”.
