The British Airways cabin crew strike starting next weekend could affect those travelling home from South By Southwest in Texas.
The union representing the BA crew, Unite, has today confirmed there will be two strikes – from March 20th to the 22nd and four further days from March 27th – crippling some with flights booked through the airline.
With the music part of SXSW taking place from March 17th – 21st, those travelling home from Austin to the UK through British Airways could face travel difficulties.
British Airways said in a statement today: “Unite's action has no shred of justification. Cabin crew face no pay cut or reduction in terms and conditions - and remain the best rewarded in the UK airline industry.
"We are very sorry for the stress and disruption Unite's decision will cause. We are currently considering our response to this strike threat and what action we will need to take to minimise disruption."
Crew members are striking over working conditions and pay.
