Sex Pistols star John Lydon has paid tribute to the band's former manager Malcolm McLaren, who died yesterday.
McLaren passed away in Switzerland following a battle with a rare form of cancer. He was 64.
In a statement issued under his Sex Pistols name Johnny Rotten, Lydon said: "For me Malc was always entertaining, and I hope you remember that.
"Above all else he was an entertainer and I will miss him, and so should you."
McLaren briefly managed the New York Dolls before launching the career of the Sex Pistols.
He guided the punk rock pioneers to the top of the charts in 1977 with their iconic hit, ‘God Save The Queen', and in doing so earned himself the nickname “the godfather of punk”.
It is understood that McLaren asked to be flown home to the UK to be buried in Highgate Cemetery, north London.
