Katy Perry has revealed that her second album will be entitled ‘Teenage Dream’.
The follow-up to 2008’s ‘One For The Boys’ will be released on August 30.
The album will be preceded by the single ‘California Gurls’, which features Snoop Dogg, on June 20.
In a statement, Perry said she had been inspired to write the track after watching a friend listen to Jay-Z’s ‘Empire State Of Mind’.
“Everybody was holding their drinks in the air and dancing, and I thought, ‘We’re not in New York, we’re in Los Angeles,” she said.
“What about California? What about all the homies, the gin and juice, the swaying palm trees, the sun-kissed skin 24-7.
“I decided that we needed to make a response. I want people to want to book a ticket to California the first time they hear it!”
‘California Gurls' is currently available on the singer’s official website.
