Asked what their follow-up to 2009's 'Ignore the Ignorant' would sound like, singer Ryan Jarman said they were keen to record “in a completely different way again”.
His twin brother Gary admitted that he had been written a number of organ-led and acoustic tracks.
But said it was a pop direction that they were most interested in.
“Some part of use just wants to go really low-fi and just do things quite quickly and quite raw,” he said.
“But I've also been thinking that we should make just a real pop album, not just an indie-pop album – a really full on pop [album].”
Ryan added: “I just think the main thing is getting weird sounds. Guitar records of the last few years have just sounded very dull – sonically they've sounded very bland.”
The Cribs also spoke about their recent festival appearances and tour stories during the 30 minute discussion with fans.
