Johnny Marr has said it was a “pleasure” working on the score to the summer box office hit Inception.
The Cribs guitarist embarked on the project with composer Hans Zimmer, whose previous work includes The Thin Red Line and Gladiator.
In an exclusive interview with Gigwise, Marr said it had been an enjoyable experience working on the Christopher Nolan-directed film.
“It was such a pleasure playing that score because Hans Zimmer's just such a beautiful musician and a beautiful person,” he said. “You can hear it in the music.”

Inception stars Leonard DiCaprio and Ellen Page, and tells the story of a man who can extract information from the subconscious mind of individuals while they dream.
The movie has already grossed over $500 million at the box office.
“It's very successful to and I think everybody involved in it deserved its success because they worked on it so hard,” Marr said of the sci-fi film's appeal.
“And also it's really good to have something that's got a lot of backing that assumes the audience has got some brain cells, because quite often these days that's not the case.
“It's like Will Smith has to come in and do a dance and save the world – do we really need any more of that?”
The former Smiths guitarist also said he planned to work with Zimmer again, but was unsure whether the pair would work on a follow-up to Inception.
