Lil’ Wayne has endorsed basketball star LeBron James’s decision to join Miami Heat.
The 25-year-old forward has joined the team from fellow NBA side the Cleveland Cavaliers in a deal reportedly worth $16m a year.
Li’ Wayne, who is currently serving a prison term, spoke about the move in a post on his blog.
“I believe that this Miami team will be explosive as intended,” the rapper wrote, claiming that “anything less than an NBA championship title will be uncivilized”.
He also told fans to watch out for the Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks next season.
"I can't wait to see how teams stack up next season when those other big name players hit the market," he said, adding: "Good ole basketball."
As previously reported on Gigwise, Lil Wayne is serving a one-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to attempted gun possession.
It is thought he will be released in November - five months early.
