Fans of Biffy Clyro and Paul Weller have hijacked Gigwise's search to find our readers' choice for this year's Mercury Prize.

Both acts are among the twelve shortlisted for the album prize, which will be handed out at a ceremony in London on September 7.

The eventual winner will be chosen by a panel of music industry experts, but in an attempt to gain the people's favourite, Gigwise has published our own vote.

Voting only opened this morning (July 21), but it was quickly overwhelmed by fans sites dedicated to Dizzee Rascal, Weller and Biffy Clyro.

As it stands, Biffy Clyro's 'Only Revolutions' is the people's choice to win the Mercury Prize, with fellow nominees The xx and Wild Beasts also performing well.

But with voting still a long way off closing, there’s still chance to change the result.
