Guns N' Roses Promoter Apologises For Late Dublin Gig

The promoter of Guns N' Roses concert in Dublin last night (September 1), which saw the band bottled off stage, has apologised to concert-goers.

Fans reacted angrily after the US band arrived on stage over 30 minutes later than scheduled for their set at the O2.

Frontman Axl Rose then instructed his band members to leave the stage after 22 minutes when some fans threw missiles.

In a statement, MCD apologised “for any inconvenience caused due to late running of the show”, which eventually finished at 1am.

They also confirmed that Rose was restrained from leaving the venue when he initially left the stage.

“The artist was prevented from leaving the venue by the promoter and following backstage discussions Guns N' Roses went back on stage at 23.20 hrs and performed their full set until 00.53 hrs,” the statement said.

A number of fans have already contacted Gigwise to express their disappointment over the show and request a refund.

The incident last night comes just days after the band’s controversial headlining appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals.

Guns N’ Roses appeared later than scheduled for both gigs and were frequently booed by festival-goers.

  • I thinks Axl justs wants to hear the crowd chanting "guns n roses" like the beginning of he song "Get in the ring" not going to happen cause he is a douche. He has been late and walked off stage so many times. Riots have insued because of his tardiness and retardedness. Doesn't he get it? He IS NOT cool enough to be fasionably late anymore. He should have died wit the 90's.

  • Whats this "Bottled off stage" in Dublin, There was a plastic bottle thrown on stage, Yeah that is really gonna give someone a nasty knock, The guys (Axl) is a waste of space and has never shown respect to the people who put him where he is, Yeah GnR were a great band once but now I find myself explaining (The original band from the 80's) when I say I like Guns n'Roses, He should have to pay the fans back for being such a dick !

  • Hilarious! Ahkmel seems to have the misconception that he's still a) a rock star and b) relevant. When you're the "it" thing of the moment, or if you've had a long tenured successful career, you might get away with acting like a rockstar. Ahkmel, check yourself, you are none of the above. Nirvana arrived and you, thankfully, no longer mattered.

  • It amazes me that anyone would even bother to make the trip to the venue to see this fake G'n'R tribute band, let alone pay money for the privilige. When Slash, Duff et al left, that was the end of the REAL band: perhaps it's time G'n'R fans finally taught the arrogant dimwit lead singer this lesson by just simply staying away.
