The promoter of Guns N' Roses concert in Dublin last night (September 1), which saw the band bottled off stage, has apologised to concert-goers.
Fans reacted angrily after the US band arrived on stage over 30 minutes later than scheduled for their set at the O2.
Frontman Axl Rose then instructed his band members to leave the stage after 22 minutes when some fans threw missiles.
In a statement, MCD apologised “for any inconvenience caused due to late running of the show”, which eventually finished at 1am.
They also confirmed that Rose was restrained from leaving the venue when he initially left the stage.
“The artist was prevented from leaving the venue by the promoter and following backstage discussions Guns N' Roses went back on stage at 23.20 hrs and performed their full set until 00.53 hrs,” the statement said.
A number of fans have already contacted Gigwise to express their disappointment over the show and request a refund.
The incident last night comes just days after the band’s controversial headlining appearance at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
Guns N’ Roses appeared later than scheduled for both gigs and were frequently booed by festival-goers.
