George Michael Abandons Bail Bid

George Michael has abandoned plans to appeal against his eight-week jail sentence.

The singer’s lawyers were expected to apply for bail at Blackfriars Crown Court today (September 17).

But a court spokeswoman told the Press Association: "The bail application has been abandoned."

The former Wham! star was imprisoned on Tuesday (September 14) for crashing his car while under the influence of drugs.

He had pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs last month.

Tabloid reports claimed the star broke down in tears during his first night in Pentonville prison earlier this week.
