Paul McCartney 'Pens Prison Letter To George Michael'

Sir Paul McCartney has sent a letter to former Wham! star George Michael in prison, according to reports.

The former Beatle is said to have written to Michael in a bid to lift his spirits as he serves a eight-week sentence for crashing his car while under the influence of drugs.

In the two page letter, Sir Paul, who served ten days in a Tokyo jail in 1980 for cannabis possession, apparently “empathised” with Michael's situation.

"He got the letter on Monday and was really chuffed,” a source told The Sun. “Sir Paul said he would see him soon and told George to keep his chin up."

Michael was jailed last month after pleading guilty to possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs.

He is due to serve four weeks at Highpoint Prison in Suffolk and four weeks out on probation.
