October 2 2010 - The We Are Plastic Ono Band were joined by Lady Gaga as they kicked off a week long series of events to mark what would be been John Lennon’s 70th birthday.
The singer performed two songs with the former Beatles’ widow Yoko Ono at the Oprheum in Los Angeles. The 77-year-old thanked Lady Gaga for being “so brilliant and such an inspiration to so many women”.
The star-studded event also featured guest appearances from RZA, Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Lennon was shot dead outside his home in New York in 1980. He would have celebrated his 70th birthday this weekend.
